FUNFARE By Ricardo F. Lo August 05, 2010 12:00 AM

Will Regine Velasquez and Ogie Alcasid look like this on Dec. 22, 2010, the date said by Ogie to be ‘happy’?• As in the defunct Wowowee, Pokwang carries on her penchant for hugging and kissing good-looking men, whether guest star or part of the studio audience, to the new ABS-CBN noontime show Pilipinas Win Na Win (which is very clearly a Kris Aquino show because as main host, Kris all but eclipses her co-hosts including, aside from Pokwang, Robin Padilla, Mariel Rodriguez and Valerie Concepcion). Yesterday, Pokwang went a little too far by putting her legs across the lap of a blushing American guy whom she showered with her usual hugs and kisses. If it were a male host doing that to female (star or guest), he would be accused of sexual harassment — on the air at that! Of course, with Kris on the show, MTRCB chief Consoliza Laguardia might think 10 times before sending the show a “warning.” Takot lang n’ya kay P-Noy, ‘no!

• From reader “Ted” on Funfare’s Big Apple correspondent Edmund Silvestre’s report on Arnel Pineda’s recent show (sans his Journey co-members) in Atlantic City, with guest Rachelle Ann Go: Heart Evangelista was mistakenly mentioned as the singer of two popular ‘80s songs included in the show’s repertoire when in fact the real singers are the British and American rock band Heart. (Note: It was a proofreading error. Reader “Ted” is right when he mentioned that Heart hasn’t re-recorded the songs.)
ent1bcanvass• Have Christian Bautista and Cristine Reyes become an item after the shoot of Christian’s music video for his new single I Remember The Girl (from his Romance Revisited Album: The Love Songs of Jose Mari Chan)? Cristine is Christian’s leading lady in that video. Last Saturday afternoon, the two watched Salt together in Greenhills Theater. Incidentally, Cristine was launched last Sunday as a regular co-host of ABS-CBN’s ASAP XV. Since Christian is also in that show, they just might do a song-and-dance number together soon.

The guessing game continues and we might not know the answer until Dec. 22, yes, this year.

Are Ogie Alcasid and his beloved Regine Velasquez (finally, finally!) getting married on that date, as Regine has been hinting in her recent TV guestings?

She neither denies nor confirms it, she just keeps on dropping “clues.”

If ever they are…marching down the aisle, that is…it simply means that whatever legal impediments shall have been resolved before then. Good for them. It’s about time they tied the knot because they are not getting any younger. Regine is 40 and Ogie is 45.

Then yesterday, Ogie sent Funfare this text message: Stay tuned to Party Pilipinas (on GMA) this Sunday for an important announcement.

Hmmmm, another “cliffhanger?”

Asked for a “hint,” Ogie texted back: Basta, it’s re Dec. 22. It will be a happy day.

Okay then, here’s wishing Ogie and Regine an advance “Marry” Christmas!

ent1ccanvassFunfare has been putting out stories mostly about Kris Aquino who has broken her “vow of silence” and who continues to spill more beans about her and James Yap’s failed marriage. She cited James’ being “a womanizer” as one of the reasons for the break-up of their five-year-old marriage (they got married in civil rites on July 10, 2005), three and a half years of which have been, according to Kris, “miserable.”

In a rare “ambush” interview, Funfare managed to draw a little comment from the usually shy and reticent James who, as expected, is as tight-lipped as ever.

“Bakit ako mambababae? Sira ba ang ulo ko, samantalang alam ko at alam ng buong mundo kung sino ang asawa ko?”

Just that. Nothing more.

People close to James said that if Kris really has stopped loving James and has decided not to give their marriage another chance, then “Huwag na lang siya magsalita nang magsalita, pagusapan na lang nilang dalawa ni James at irespeto na lang niya, kung hindi si James, ang anak nilang si Baby James.”

James’ friends said that, even if Kris has asked James “to stop mentioning my Mom (the late Pres. Cory Aquino),” James never “used” Tita Cory’s name to “gain sympathy,” while acknowledging the fact that Tita Cory, as his friends quoted James, “ay naging mabait sa akin at minahal akong parang tunay na anak.”

Now, could it be true that, according to yet somebody close to the un-couple, Baby James has started to miss his dad, often wondering, “Saan Papa?”

In yesterday’s edition of Pilipinas Win Na Win, when Kris learned that the parents of a contestant were separated, she said, “It’s true na kapag nagkakahiwalay ang parents, ang nagsa-suffer ay ang anak kahit wala naman siyang kasalanan.”

A Freudian slip? Very true, right?

ent1dcanvassHow time flies!

Only two weeks ago, Heart Evangelista was telling the whole world that she was happy with her love life, thank you.

Ask Heart now, or those close to her (including her mom, Cecilia Ongpauco), and they will tell you, “Heart is happily single.”

So what happened between Heart and her non-showbiz boyfriend (a newly-elected local official of a province up North, who belongs to a prominent family)?

“They broke up,” said Heart’s friend Mr. T. “Just like that.”

Asked if there’s a third party involved, Mr. T said, “Maybe not on Heart’s part…I think.”

The guy would have been Heart’s first serious involvement after she broke up with Jericho Rosales more than four years ago.

“I think Heart would be better off putting her love life on hold and concentrating on her career,” said Cecilia.
